Services for Creative Artists
The Geneseo Migrant Center provides arts activities including music and dance performances, arts and crafts, drawing and painting, photography, and sculpture. Field trips to various art activities and events take place throughout the season. The project preserves and displays traditional arts and practices through various art exhibitions.
Poets and fiction writers present readings of their own work and/or the work of other writers as well as conducting writing workshops for migrant workers.
The Geneseo Migrant Center headquarters in Leicester, New York, features an exhibition celebrating the importance of migrant farmworkers and highlighting their vibrant cultures and artistic talents.
Arts Scholarships for Migrant Farmworkers
The Berrian Fragos Thorn Arts Scholarship encourages the creative talents of individuals with a history of migration to obtain work in agriculture. Two grant levels are available in visual, media, or performing arts. Learn More →
